Let’s talk about sleeves, baby. The bell sleeve trend is everywhere now and I absolutely love it. I remember when I bought my first bell sleeve top – I think it was in 7th or 8th grade – it was a taupe colored, boho top from Wet Seal. I remember this so well because it was so cool back then and I wore it to one of my school dances. The trend kinda faded away but now it’s finally back again. Yay!
I wore this dress to a fancy dinner with my husband this weekend, which might I add, is not the ideal place to wear a bell sleeve dress. I was knocking over wine glasses with my sleeves and was being very cautious not to have the sleeves touch my food. My husband said that my dress is ridiculous and impractical, lol. But, c’mon, men don’t understand. I mean, I probably wouldn’t recommend wearing such large sleeves if you’re going out for dinner, but for a night on the town this is the perfect cocktail dress.
This exact dress that I’m wearing is from Zara and it’s less than $40 and also comes in blue. The thing is.. it’s not really a dress. It’s actually a jumper. There are shorts built in underneath, which to be honest – I hate. I mean, it’s nice that you don’t have to worry about your hooha being exposed but it’s kind of a pain to use the restroom in, since this dress is not the easiest to take off. But – I think the sacrifice of using the restroom is worth it for this dress. I mean, look at those sleeves!
This is definitely a statement piece which is why I kept everything else simple. The sleeves speak for themselves. It’s such a fun piece to wear and it really adds a little drama to your outfit. I’m hoping to add more of these statement sleeves into my wardrobe this fall. What about you? Let me know what you think about this trend! Until next time friends!
